holiday...
I snuck off to Devon for some much needed family time with John and the kids. I also of course, took along the family Fuji for pic snapping requirements.
We stayed at the gorgeous Marlborough Cottage in Combpyne, and totally rocked a few days of sunshine, woolly hats, ice-cream snatching gulls and chips on the beach…
We skipped over the border to the Dorset town of Lyme Regis as it was only a 5 minute drive from the cottage, and has always been one of our favourite places to visit. Cue lots of lovely Christmas shopping (yep), tasty lunches and mooching around the shops ‘n wotnot until we got gallery legs and had to sit down.
Other trips took in Wildwood Escot with its otters, wolves, birds of prey and woodland walks and a lovely wander along the river at Otterton.
Highlights include Poppy taking a seagull to the head and losing her ice cream (gulls are gits but it was hilarious), the best chips from Lyme’s Fish Bar (seriously good), and the cottage itself which was so bloody cosy we frankly didn’t feel like going out half as much as if we’d gone in the summer!
Here’s some photos of the sea, and the kids, and occasionally me, John and seagulls. You’re welcome:
